Careful energy use helps to conserve natural resources and ward off climate change. In our factories we therefore prefer to use renewable energy.
Since 2009 our production plants in Neunburg vorm Wald have been powered exclusively by green electricity. A pilot project there also saw the introduction of a photo voltaic system designed to harness the sun's energy and turn it into solar electricity. Since 2011 our company headquarters in Neu-Isenburg has been powered by 100% renewable energy from the municipal energy supplier.
Fuel consumption in the factories is carefully recorded and assessed in order to ensure that the processes are constantly being improved. One example of this is the heat recovery system, which harnesses the outgoing air from the roasting plants and uses it to heat water and to heat the building.
