Area Sales Manager/Business Development Manager Asia (f/m) – Location Singapore City  

Your Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the start-up phase of Lorenz Snack-World Asia office in Singapore
  • Evaluate the awareness regarding Lorenz brands and sell Lorenz Snack-World products to distributors and wholesale/retail customers in the region of East Asia and Southeast Asia
  • This position requires direct sales activities
  • Create and implement regional sales strategies designed to drive sales revenue while building sustainable customer and distributor relationships
  • Provide market analysis to understand the size of the market opportunity, provide insight and business judgment to support strategic and tactical initiatives
  • Create a professional selling environment; maintain a consistent high level of distributor contact within the region by recruiting, selecting, training and developing distributors and their sales teams
  • Audit and manage distributors, setting and agreed annual business plans
  • Participate in annual unit sales and revenue target setting as well lead regional quarterly outlooks and monthly forecasts
  • Spend at least 15 working days a month out in the territory meeting distributors and customers in person
  • Write contracts, commercial bids, negotiate prices & assortments of goods
  • Conduct presentations as required, record all activities and prepare sales forecasts and reports for the German headquarters

Your Profile:

  • University degree (Bachelor or Master) in business administration or commercial studies; engineering degree is advantage
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of sales & marketing experience in the food industry for the Asian region
  • Work experience for a foreign/Western company in Asia with direct reporting line to its headquarters
  • Must have strong experience in dealing with local food distributor in each separated Asian countries
  • Knowledge and awareness of the food, beverage, candy & snack industry in each Asian countries in terms of marketing, product placement, price strategy and consumer behaviour
  • Experience in local food trade fairs and FMCG conferences
  • Previous work experience in identification and development of new market and product strategy
  • Work permit for Singapore

  • Flexible and willing to travel frequently in Asia (up to 70% travel time)
  • Fluent in English, Chinese/Japanese or another local Asian language
